I consider myself educated and well read, but have learned much over this past year about politics. Recently I read some comments about “The Overton Window” and realized I did not know this concept very well. Or should I say this strategy. I found this page to explain it. Thanks to the blog Corrente.
Here is the definition from Wikipedia:
The Overton window is a concept in political theory, named after the former vice president of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, Joe Overton, who developed the model. It describes a “window” in the range of public reactions to ideas in public discourse, in a spectrum of all possible options on an issue.
