Weekly Roundup 10/12/2009

Just some opinions on the past weeks news in no particular order of importance

On Letterman:

Two of my marriages and most of my friendships have come from meeting people and having relationships at work.  I spend at least 9 hours a day at work.  Where else am I going to meet people; cleaning the catbox? In Letterman’s case I have not heard nor have I read any woman speak out on being coerced into anything for any purpose.  It seems to me the extortionist is in the wrong here and wanted to make a buck.

On Polanski:

Sorry Whoopi, rape is rape.  There is no different kind of rape. Polanski raped a young girl against her will after drugging her and ignored her requests to stop.  A thirteen year old girl did not do anything to deserve this.  What I want to know is, where was her mother?  Common sense, you don’t leave your children alone like that.  Ploanski may be famous, but he broke the law.  He needs to go to jail.

On Alan Grayson:

Thank goodness there is a Representative out there in Washington Land with some gonads.  It’s about time.  Keep speaking out Rep. Grayson, we need your voice.

On Sarah Palin:

I don’t plan to buy the book or support any cause you stand for because I think you lie when it is convenient to lie.  You quit as governer of Alaska, now go away and be a regular person.  No one cares what you say, especially not me.

On Senator Al Franken:

Thank you for standing up to do the right thing.  I agree with you, there is a place for mandatory arbitration, but it does not apply in cases of rape or abuse. Those that choose to abuse others need to pay, and those companies that get money from the government need to protect their workers not exploit them.

On the Senators that voted against Franken’s Amendment:

Be named and be ashamed:  Alexander (R-TN), Barrasso (R-WY), Bond (R-MO), Brownback (R-KS), Bunning (R-KY), Burr (R-NC), Chambliss (R-GA), Coburn (R-OK), Cochran (R-MS), Corker (R-TN), Cornyn (R-TX), Crapo (R-ID), DeMint (R-SC), Ensign (R-NV), Enzi (R-WY), Graham (R-SC), Gregg (R-NH), Inhofe (R-OK), Isakson (R-GA), Johanns (R-NE), Kyl (R-AZ), McCain (R-AZ), McConnell (R-KY), Risch (R-ID), Roberts (R-KS), Sessions (R-AL), Shelby (R-AL), Thune (R-SD), Vitter (R-LA), Wicker (R-MS).  (These same names keep showing up and I wonder why.)  I looked at a map showing the number of forcible rapes in each of your states.  Very interesting.  For those interested check out www.nationalatlas.gov.

On Keith Olberman:

Loved the special comment and it touched me.  We all need to stand up for Healthcare for our fellow man, woman, and child regardless of their ability to pay.  Donate to the National Association of Free Clinics Here

On Rush Limbaugh:

Leave the Rams alone.  Also, the idea of you being a judge for the Miss America Pageant makes me cringe.  Any woman that would want a leering fat blob like you judging her should be ashamed.  Note:  I have not watched this show for many years, because it demeans women everywhere and is a joke.  Adding Rush Limbaugh as a judge makes it a bigger joke.  Please.
